From the very youngest to the oldest
Many people find their way to De Cameleon. To watch and listen but also to play, dance, sing, and be active and in motion in many ways. De Cameleon provides space for professionals and amateurs alike.
Always developing
De Cameleon has undergone all kinds of developments. Budget cuts in arts and culture and the abolition of job schemes have meant that De Cameleon can no longer pay staff. Nevertheless, De Cameleon continues enthusiastically, now as a volunteer organization.
Since 1996
De Cameleon started in 1996 in a former school on the Derde Kostverlorenkade in Amsterdam Oud-West. In 2005 it was purchased by the Kostgangers association, of which De Cameleon is a member. Since the renovation that followed the purchase, De Cameleon has not only the Theater Hall on the ground floor but also a beautiful music and dance hall on the first floor.
